Thesis prizes

Each year, the chancellerie bestows prizes called the thesis prizes, amounting to between 1.000 and 10.000 euros each. These prizes reward the academic and scientific quality of PhD theses defended during the previous twelve-month period. The chancellerie prizes are open to all students of the Île-de-France region in law and political sciences, economics and management, medicine, sciences, pharmacy, arts and humanities, enrolled in one of the following institutions:

  • Universities in Île-de-France region
  • École des Hautes études en sciences sociales
  • Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales
  • École pratique des Hautes Études
  • Sciences Po Paris
  • Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle
  • École nationale des chartes

Application forms must be sent to the institutes where the students were enrolled when they defended their PhD thesis. These prizes are awarded, following an initial selection process in the certified institutes concerned, by panels mainly made up of university professors.
